SBI, IDBI Bank drag Nifty PSU Bank index lower
Selling in shares of State Bank of India BSE -1.42 % (down 1.48 per cent), IDBI Bank Ltd BSE -0.19 %. (down 0.57 per cent), Andhra Bank BSE -0.44 % (down 0.26 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.22 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce BSE -0.17 % (down 0.12 per cent) dragged Nifty PSU Bank index lower in Thursday's trade, even as other components of the index were gaining in trade.
Selling in shares of State Bank of India BSE -1.42 % (down 1.48 per cent), IDBI Bank Ltd BSE -0.19 %. (down 0.57 per cent), Andhra Bank BSE -0.44 % (down 0.26 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.22 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce BSE -0.17 % (down 0.12 per cent) dragged Nifty PSU Bank index lower in Thursday's trade, even as other components of the index were gaining in trade.
Benchmark Nifty50 index was 0.11 per cent down at 9,904, while Sensex was 0.08 per cent down at 31,647 around that time.
Shares of Punjab National Bank BSE 1.08 % (up 1.08 per cent), Syndicate Bank BSE 0.39 % (up 0.47 per cent), Union Bank of India BSE -0.48 % (up 0.44 per cent) and Bank of Baroda BSE 0.36 % (up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty PSU Bank index.
Among the 51 stocks in Nifty index, 22 were trading in green, while 28 were in red
Shares of SBI, YES Bank BSE 1.53 %, NTPC BSE 1.22 %, PowerGrid, Axis Bank BSE -1.01 %, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank BSE -1.63 %, Aurobindo Pharm, ITCBSE 0.00 %, Idea Cellular BSE -0.27 %, Bank of Baroda, DLF, PNB, Infosys BSE 0.36 %, Tata Motors BSE -0.39 %, RIL, NHPC BSE 0.00 %, REC, ONGC BSE -0.32 %, Sun Pharma BSE 0.06 % were among the most traded securities on NSE
On the NSE, 948 stocks were advancing, compared with 674 stocks declining and 340 stocks remaining unchanged
On the BSE, 1,391 stocks were advancing whereas 1,044 stocks were lagging and 106 stocks were appearing unchanged.
